This song it the first result of the April Casa Mojo recording session.  "Why would you?" has a touch of the "Walrus" about it, we are told.  Certainly the influence of classical instrumentation can be heard, battling it out with the usual influence of exotic herbal remedies and whisky.  Some say it's the best Moriartys tune yet....you can be the judge of that rather lofty claim.

We're Back!!!!

No Moriartys news since last October.....it's been a long time.  Of course absence makes the heart grow stronger etc etc....so we are pleased to announce that the gang have been writing and recording.  The first track to be made available for free download is "Catherine wheel".  We thought of Paul Simonon when we heard the bass line!  You will be relieved to know that this track was produced and mixed by T-Bone.  He also provided the slinky guitar solo.....Enjoy!

Was this head injury self inflicted?

Further drama and mystery surrounds the Moriartys return to the live stage on November 4th at the George in Twickenham.  Today we have received fresh Moriarty news that the band's fragile and tempermental lead guitarist has been ordered to sit out the band's upcoming charity gig.  T-Bone as most fans know has a history of severe head injuries.  There has been speculation that some of these injuries have indeed been self inflicted in an attempt to avoid leaving his luxury Berkshire studio/living quarters.  T-Bone has become more reclusive in recent years (except at his local liquor store) resulting in some fans wondering whether he has been suffering from a mental illness.

Where this leaves the remaining members of the band with less than 3 weeks to go before the gig, it is not exactly clear.  One thing is for certain....the gig will still happen.  Rumours that ex - Moriarty the Spaniard has been contacted to assist, can neither be confirmed or denied.

McTavish update

No news appears to be good news when it comes to the Missing McTavish mystery.  Police have found no clues to his whereabouts and he has been officially placed on the Missing Drummer list. 

These are obviously difficult times.  The remaining members are reluctant to speak publicly about either these two events.

THE MORIARTYS - LIVE AT THE GEORGE PUB - TWICKENHAM - NOVEMBER 4TH 2011  

Moriarty Fenwick and head of Moriarty Security Rory Gillies are faced with the alarming McTavish news on their way to Sir Paul McCartney's Wedding reception in North London last night

West London police are today treating the "Missing McTavish" case has "highly suspicious" and "dubious".  They have made it clear that it is too early to suggest that this might indeed be a murder case, however they have not ruled this completely out based on Police intelligence that there is a well known group of music fans who might have motives for assasinating the wayward and unpredictable drummer.

Both Moriarty Rick and Fenwick were said to be "shocked and stunned" that their friend and backbeat of the band, has disapeared in such a mysterious manner.  Rick Moriarty had this to say; "I'm devastated, and shocked, and not a little miffed.....I've heard he was walking by the river in Kingston with a news paper and a couple of Scotch Eggs, and there was what appeared to be a gun shot, and then a very big splashing sound......and he hasn't been seen since!". 

Moriarty T-Bone had this to say; "I fear the worse, he had a death wish that lad, I mean he liked a drink and he liked scotch eggs, but we all know they're not good for you.  He was dancing with the devil in my opinion, and lets face it he was a shocking dancer, especially for a drummer!"

Moriarty Fenwick said simply "It's a drag..."

As the police continue their investigations, Rock fans all over the world will have their fingers crossed, hoping that he will one day return, healthy, clean and sober and ready to work again with the band he made his name with.  

With the Moriartys charity show the GEORGE FEST now only weeks away the band have been forced to act quick and have drafted in a very special stand in for the night......from the exceptional Scam 69, on drums......... with the Moriartys;

I 

London is once again peacefull and calm after the recent riots, the kids were angry, and stealing plazma tv's have made them less angry it seems.  Here at HQ we can inform you that there appears to be some substance to the ongoing rumours of a Moriartys live show.  At this stage nothing can be confirmed or denied.  We prefer to keep things running in a cool fashion and look at the facts rather than raise harmful expectations and then drag people down causing bad karma etc etc. 

The last thing we want to do is uptight  people, so here are the facts we have right now:

1. Moriarty Fenwick has been seen twice in the last month at a small but cool music venue in Twickenham.  Both he and Moriarty McTavish were recently seen together drinking coffee in Kingston, Surrey, their mood on this occason was described as "surprisingly upbeat".
2. Moriarty McTavish has been seen buying a new snare drum from his favourite music shop.
3. Moriarty Rick (who has always been the most publicly open to the suggestion of live Moriarty performances) has been seen talking to members of Turin Brakes about live performance. 
4. Moriarty T-Bone, has gone on record to say that he is prepared to at least discuss the possibility of rehearsing for a live performance, and has been sitting on a number of hot new Moriarty tracks awaiting overdubs and mixing for a number of weeks.  His local liquor store owner has seen him on a daily basis and has described his mood as " serious and pensive, as if he is focusing on something almost as important as his shopping?".
5. The rumour that the Moriartys are to play the Monto Water Rats in London's Kings Cross, is no more than a rumour.
6. The Spaniard has ruled himself out of any live performances. He says that he prefers his life away from the madness and chaos of live shows, and is still "healing his nervous system" following  the last shows.

Yes it's one almighty drag not knowing what to expect next from the boys.  To help lift our mood we have an unreleased track from the reclusive Moriartys to share with the world. Oh the Irony, it's called "Hiding from the Sun" it was recorded in 2009 and it's ready to be downloaded and streamed right now.
